Introduction:

The movie starts by recaping what has happened to all of the girls since the last movie. Bridget has gone back to soccer camp as a coach; Lena and Kostos were together for a while until Lena decided to end things between them; Tibby and Brian McBrian grew closer together and continued to remember Bailey- eventually Tibby and Brian start dating; and Carmen's mother has remarried a man named David. The recaps continue with the girls graduating from high school and going onto college- Bridget is a soccer player at Brown University, Lena is on scholarship at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), Tibby is a film major at NYU, and Carmen is attending Yale University. The audience also finds out that Lena's grandfather has passed away when it shows her family in Greece attending his funeral. Kostos is there to pay his respects to her family and also to tell Lena that he has gotten married and is expecting a baby with his new wife. Lena is crushed and Kostos appears miserable that he is married to someone other than Lena and that he has presumably broken her heart. Carmen acts as the film's narrator (both at the beginning and end of the film) so we see her at Yale University right from the beginning. She is a stagehand for the drama department and has a friend named Julia who is one of the actresses in the department. Julia mentions to Carmen that she is attending an Actor's Workshop in Vermont over the summer and if Carmen is interested in working backstage at the workshop, Julia could pull some strings to get her accepted. Carmen declines the offer, stating that her mother is pregnant and that her friends would be very upset with her if she wasn't at home this summer. Bridget arrives back home to Bethesda, MD to find her dad waiting for her. Things between the two don't appear to be any better than they were in the first film. Carmen arrives back home to find that all of her stuff has been packed up and she is noticably upset with her mother and her stepfather's plans to move earlier than expected, in hopes of being settled in before the new baby arrives.
